The store occupies the ground floor of a building at Corso Garibaldi 20, a pedestrian axis running through the Brera district and connecting Milan's historic centre with the Porta Garibaldi area.

It is one of the city's busiest shopping streets, part of the Brera Design District, and the store, known internally as Milano 03, joins the brand's historic Milanese locations, including the one on Corso di Porta Ticinese.

The opening dates to December 2023; the project is by Andrea Caputo with Salomée Faeh.

Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) is the European-based division, active since 1989, which reinterprets for an urban audience the workwear of the American company Carhartt, founded in Detroit in 1889. The Milanese architect Andrea Caputo has designed the brand's stores across Europe and Asia for over fifteen years. His is not an episodic project but a replicable system of architectural identity, adapted each time to the existing spaces.

The intervention on Corso Garibaldi follows this established grammar. The layout is essential and prioritises the legibility of the retail space: neutral surfaces, a reduced, industrial-derived material palette, metal, concrete, wood and modular display systems, designed to be reconfigured as collections change.

The aesthetic deliberately evokes the world of manufacturing from which the brand originates.

The store is treated as a working environment rather than a boutique, with the product in the foreground and the architecture as a silent infrastructure. Its insertion into the nineteenth-century commercial frontage of Corso Garibaldi avoids any mimicry: the shop window maintains the rhythm of the street, while the interior declares a contemporary, technical language.
